Well, just had the return of the lovely Wong family from Hong Kong, who were with me in Scotland last August.
First stop was Dumbarton Castle, up to the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, into the Trossachs and a walk at Loch Katrine, with a night at the Lake Of Menteith Hotel.
This put us in great position to visit the 12th century Inchmaholm Priory on the Lake the next morning. Then off to the Bannockburn Battle Centre, going north through Crieff, up the Sma’ Glen with a visit to the Crannog by Kenmore on Loch Tay, with a night at the Pine Trees in Pitlochry.
Day 3 started with a visit to the Edradour Distillery, up the Spittal Of Glenshee to Braemar, followed by a visit to Balmoral Castle, in unusual damp conditions!!! Then a quick lunch in Ballater, followed by a visit to the magnificent castle at Dunnottar. Then south via Dundee and the Tay Road Bridge for a night at Rufflets Hotel, outside St.Andrews.
Last day started with a good walk around the Auld grey toon of St. Andrews, incl the Beach, Old Course, University, Castle and Cathedral, followed by lunch at the Red Lion at Culross, and then sadly Edinburgh Airport. Time as ever runs out…
Another great tour with this lively and fun family.
